The original artist who sung "You Raised Me Up" goes by the name of Josh Grovan, (I think he was in American Idol but I'm not too sure). In X-Factor, the boy with Celebral Palsy sung it on his auditions and Loius Walsh's Westlife (unsurprisingly) is releasing the cover of the song soon.
Sorry, his name is actuallu Josh Groban

Hopalong - you are an absolute star.
Your welcome galltin
Although Josh Grobin has sung this song he is not the original  artist .It has been around for years As the world & his wife have sung it  Especially in Ireland I can't tell you who the original artist is but Daniel O'donnell & russell Watson are two of the many.
But didn't whitney houston sing this? Not in Bodyguard but i'm sure she sang it
Precisely dothawks2 (By the way is that a new dothawks or the original after a Doctor who style regeneration?) like I said it would be easier to find who has not sung it than who has.
mmmmmmm
dave's right - Josh groban sang it but I haven't heard his version.  I have heard Secret Garden sing it - the group and Russell Watson has sung it but Westlife are bringing it out - they sang it o Tikled pink last Saturday night

Hi

I love this song too and you can find the video on yahoo.com

Brian Kennedy made an origional recording with Secret Garden, but then he went on to release the song on his own, only a year or two ago. I think everyone is having a go at releasing the song, and a beautiful song it is. i dont think anyone would grow tired of listening to it. its so nice to have your favourite artist (whoever that may be) to sing great songs (whether theyre a cover or not). Does anybody think like me...that there is a very strong resemblamce to this song and 'Danny Boy'. Perhaps both were written around the same time?
