I knew I knew her from somewhere. Am I the only one that didn't know she was Aveline (I wanna be a model) in Bread?

Melanie Hill was the second actress to play Aveline. The actress who played her originally was Gilly Coman but she tragically died at quite a youngish age.

I do remember the change over of actresses but it wasn't because Gilly died - she played Aveline until 1988 and died in 2010. She did quite a bit of acting after Bread.

Reading her biog she has had a fabulous career on stage, film and tv. Much rather that calibre of actor on Corrie than pop singers.

Yes I did recognise her when she came to Corrie, I love her character.
I did prefer the original actress as Aveline though, shame she died so young.

She's a fine actress. I hope her nephew (Alex?) comes back for more scenes, good actor and I loved the carmarderie between Roy, Cathy and him.
