x factor - different songs

I have just watched the xtra factor on ITV2 and wonder if anyone knows why they show people singing different songs to the ones they sing on the main ITV1 programme?????

i think they have to sing two songs for the audition so they play one on one show and another on the other show because not enough time on first to play both hope this helps
