yes. it is by "deodato". can't remember his name. It might be on the album "first cukoo"

It is indeed by Eumir (maybe dodgy spelling!) Deodato, the Brazillian jazz musician who released the music in what was quaintly called 'jazz-funk' format around 1979/80. It did come out on a single, so you may be able to pick it up from a dealer.

Blackout - Gotta Have Hope (Multiply Records) This tune was done by Dillon & Dickens as a funky housey tune utilising the epic 2001 tune as a breakdown with the lyrics (You've Gotta Have Hope), Judge Jules also did a harder house version.
