Yesterday's game had a contestant who turned down £26,000 and ended up with £20, £10 in his box and doubled with box 23, do you think people are greedy, he was tempted with £250,000 still being there but it was inevitable he was going to take reds as he had such a good blue start! I would have been delighted with the offer!

I dunno. You can work hard and earn 26k in a reasonably short time if you really try, but a quarter of a million pounds is a life changing sum of money. That being said it's easier to earn £250k if you have £26k to start with, so I'd be torn. If he's not a wheeler dealer though the £250k would have looked very attractive.

It's less about greed and more about courage and nerve. The 'banker' never gives a fair offer. On a good day he may decide a bird in the contestant's hand may be worth more to them than two in the bush, but usually the offer is an insult, relying on the inability of most to risk the paltry offer and possibly end up with something even smaller. Kudos to those with the ability to risk it all for a fair crack at the big one and try not to let the banker get away with it.
