Just watched Tony Blackburn being interviewed by Piers Morgan and thought I'd check a couple of details on Wikipedia. Seems strange that at the top of the Wiki page under 'Spouse' it just mentions his first wife, Tessa Wyatt, who he was married to for 3 years. No mention of Debbie, his present wife of 21 years until you scroll down to 'Personal life'.

Must have been edited very recently.
I watched this too, thoroughly enjoyed it - what a lovely man!
Did it mention his days on 'pirate radio.' Mr. c asked me to record it in case.
He's into all the old pirate radio stuff.

I agree - he came over very well. I used to live in Bournemouth and remember passing him in the town centre - I must have been about 15 or so. It was very exciting (I led a sheltered life!)

Yes, cupid, there was quite a bit on his early days on Radio Caroline. One of the the better interviews by Piers Morgan, I thought.
I think he's wonderful - a man who has lived and thrived in a profession where being up yourself was almost required by law, and has never taken himself too seriously, or failed to make jokes at his own expense, while quietly getting on with being a wonderful and admired broadcaster.
am I the only one who actually liked his records, "Green Light" and "So much love I'm gonna give you" still love them!!
I was very impressed with him when he said he still phones his sister every single day, and that he used to do the same for his mum too.

What a smashing guy, in this day & age it's nice to still find someone in the radio & tv business who is wholesome & honest.

WR.
John Peel once said that Tony Blackburn had discoverd the secret of eternal youth. He said 'When we both started at Radio One, we were the same age - now he's five years younger than me!'
I was listening to Radio Two the other day and the DJ said Tony Blackburn was the only person he knew that could come into the studio and say' Hey, look how straight my banana is' and mean a banana fruit, and keep a straight face.
