I have seen this film many times, and been to all the places in Salzburg
a great place to see where the film was made, I would love to go again,
I saw Julie Andrews in Victor, Victoria in New York An interesting story which was based on a real Maria. Enjoy

strange because i can't find any reference other than this earlier film of Viktor, Viktoria, to it being based on a real story.
Or did you mean that
the Sound of Music was based on a real story
if so the real Maria and Captain Von Trapp was nothing like the ones in the film, which is one of my favourites..

I've been to a sing-a - long sound of music at my local theatre where you could dress the part. I've never seen so many bearded nuns, lol! I could have quite easily strangled the kids that kept blowing the captain's whistle though:-)

I could watch this film over and over again. Funny pega,while watching it,I was thinking I'd like to go there for a holiday.

I never get tired of watching this film.pega,I visited Salzburg on a bus tour.We had to laugh when the courier told us the hill where Maria is singing at the beginning of the film is about 20 miles from the Abbey!

giveup,I'm sure you'd enjoy a holiday there.We've been to Austria twice-it's beautiful with so many interesting places to visit.
