Anyone else feel very sorry for him, he seems genuinely sorry he cheated on Mrs H, and keeps saying so at every opportunity to win her back, he sounds very humble. I'm an old softie but I do hope they get back together.

Yes, but in the end it is down to her. She has been hurt , almost certainly has moved on, and can't be sure she'll trust him in future. A few women are sanguine and treat their husband's infidelity as though it was his hobby, but they are rare and the man has to be a true philanderer who "always comes home" as a friend put it.

His best bet is to hope his partner will be his friend in future. That's not common either; though I am on best terms with both my exes, that is seen by most as rather eccentric of all of us.

Sorry - but he showed none of this demeanour when he was in full throws of an affair with Marcela (?) his younger co-star. Don't forget it was only a couple of weeks ago when asked if he felt any remorse he replied something along the lines of "guilt, what have I got to be guilty for". And didn't he initially label the affair as 'unfortunate'. Now suddenly its the biggest mistake of his life. Nothing to do with his US programme bombing and his wife landing the deal with Tesco.

Sorry - like his persona in Bake-Off and admire his skill and knowledge in that area. But as a man? Bit of an arrogant flake.
