Nothing's free. What do they get out of it?
Sure it's a free Kindle or just their newspaper to display on it ?

What offer?
Where?
When?
Question Author
daily mail on saturday(full page advert) offered a free kindle if you bought a year's subscription to dm for one year worth £119. www.dailymailplus.uk.co/kindlefire.
Looks like a good deal to me: https://www.dailymailplus.co.uk/kindlefire

If you:

1. Like the daily mail
2. Don't mind paying for content that is already free on their site
3. Want/don't mind a Kindle Fire rather than a "proper" tablet like an iPad/Surface/Nexus7

It may serve some people very well.
Here's the T&C

Available to new subscribers only, who are UK residents (excluding Channel Islands) aged 18 or over. Subject to acceptance by Mail Plus, a division of Associated Newspapers Limited, the offer is a new generation Kindle Fire HD 7’ 8GB tablet and a twelve-month subscription to Mail Plus. Contract to provide a tablet is legally binding only when Mail Plus (or those acting on its behalf) dispatches a tablet to a customer. Prior to this, Mail Plus is under no obligation to provide a tablet and/or subscription to Mail Plus and it reserves the right to refuse or reject any order. Minimum 12-month contract applies to subscription, and shall continue thereafter, until cancelled. Subscription purchased by customer paying £119.88 immediately for 1st month of subscription and the tablet. Purchase of tablet is conditional upon purchasing subscription at the same time. Maximum 1 tablet per person, subject to availability. Offer may be withdrawn at any time. Tablet will be dispatched within 28 days of full receipt of payment. Delivery times vary. Delivery time is not guaranteed. Full Amazon Kindle terms also apply. See [insert]. Payment accepted from all major credit or debit cards. Unless notified, the subscription cost after first 12 months shall be £9.99 per month. However Mail Plus reserves the right to change the subscription price on at least 30 days’ notice to you. If you so decide, you may then terminate your subscription which will continue until the next renewal date.

So you pay £120 up front and get something worth £120... after a year it's £9.99 p/m

I take offence at the proper tablet remark. I find the kindle fire quite satisfactory for it's price and what I need. Just saying.
But 're the daily mail app, why pay when it is free.
That must be costing the Mail. I don't think they'll be getting much in the way of a discount from Kindle. I saw a guy from Kindle on TV the other day saying that company policy is to sell Kindles at almost cost. Profits instead come from people then paying to download stuff.
recieved the kindle cannot download the daily mail ..still trying to figure it out
Does this e-version of the paper still come with the coffee break puzzle pages, especially the cryptic crossword ?
Can anyone who has got one of these kindles confirm whether the cryptic crossword also comes with the e-version of the Daily Mail? Could be interested if it does.

Thanks,

Dave.
I received a "free " kindle Fire (having paid for an annual Mail Plus subscription) and the Kindle Fire is the latest version, launched in Septembe. In addition to a full e version of the newspaper, the Kindle Fire edition of Mail Plus comes with a full suite (and more) of interactive crosswords and puzzles found in the newspapers Coffee Break section. The tablet, for its price, competes very ably with other tablets and with very minor tweaks, can access the various Apps available for any Android tablet
I contacted them to ask if i could enter the crosswords on line and the daily mail reward club numbers likewise or if i would still have to buy a hard copy to do this and amazingly the answer is that you would not be able to do either of those two things on line through the on line mail on the Kindle so for me it would not be a good idea!!!!!!
