No. We should be supporting countries that are fighting the trade in drug crops. The people breaking the laws in those countries know the penalty before they do the crime. No one would suggest not trading with the US because they execute prisoners, so why would we stop aid because people that deal in death and other people's misery are themselves killed?
Any money used to interdict the flow of drugs from Pakistan/Afghanistan is well spent. It might help to ensure there are less drugs available on our streets.
Drug traffickers aren't executed in America.
We don't pay for the US police, either.
I know you like to argue with AOG but try to keep it cogent.
Not for the reason given. Apart from that, I'm not sure such aid does much to stop the influx of drugs into this country. From what I read, there doesn't seem to be a shortage.

Just to get off track for a while.

Anyone know if any other countries give Britain money to sort out our problems?
Question Author
Not counting the EU, because any money coming our way from that source is simply some of our own money being channelled back to us.
Isn't that just a little fanciful, AOG? Why would we need money from anyone? We're one of the richest countries on the planet.
Remember, we sent troops to fight and die in Iraq and Afghanistan because it was better to face the enemy there than on the streets of the UK. Similarly, it's better that the first line of defence in the war on drugs is situated where they're produced.

yeah of course it does....

about as much difference as trying to empty an olympic swimming pool with a thimble.

get real
How about a coordinated worldwide programme to destroy relevant crops where they grow instead of this futile, grandstanding behaviour?

Simplistic maybe but the hi-tech complicated stuff ain't been so successful in sorting things out so far.
Some might say that there was a hidden agenda in keeping the whole thing rolling on.

Well one of the many excuses given for being in Afghanistan was to destroy the poppy fields, but did we? NO, the reason being that if the drug farming was wiped out it would destroy the indigenous farmer's livelihood.
