I remember it spangle! Weren't they koalas and had a blonde woman with them? Had forgotten all about them, til you mentioned this!
Two little koalas with Aunty Jean. I'm too young to remember them but an older friend gave me an old annual when I was little (I loved it so much I've still got it) :-D

Got it in one lindapinda! I remember sitting transfixed and being certain that they were real koalas as far as I was concerned there was nothing to compare - maybe the woodentops came a close second oh, and trumpton of course but that was a fair bit later I think. I could go on all night - kids today don't know what they're missing! sigh
Just remembered another cutie I'd forgotten,Topo Gigo,a little mexican mouse puppet. He had a man with him called Joe,and he was the cutest little mouse ever!

A bit later I know, but what about Mr Benn?

Mr Benn never did it for me I'm afraid Spangle, but what about scooby -doo the original, loved that! B.t.w.I've left you a reply in food/drink there,on green tea!

I think scooby doo was the programme that got me hooked on mystery - I don't care if its books, films, tv series or cartoons I can't get enough! Thanks for the green tea advice too x

Love a good old mystery myself! There's nothing like settling down with an episode of Midsommer or Foyle's War,and a packet of cheese mccoys and a glass of wine! Bliss!
Ah Tinga and Tucka....memories are made of this. I remember them well as a kid. Thought it was great how they could 'wish for a cartoon' on the boomarang. Can you remember Ke Ke the kangaroo and Katie cookaboro. Jean Moreton presented the show and was sometimes joined by Pat Ashley (father of Gordon Astley of later TISWAS)!!
Question Author
Yes radiospy I remember them well - I've been searching for years to find anything about the series - I'd love my daughter to see them - I managed to get her enthralled by 'tales of the riverbank' and thought that she would enjoy this just as much although it might just be wishful thinking on my part!
Oh Tales of the Riverbank....another classic. What was the creature that drove the little jeep? I can't remember his name! They just don't make em' like that anymore do they!
I mind on Tingha and Tucker because I was a member of their club, I  have the blue membership card somewhere. "woomerang, boomerang, look over there, it's Tingha and Tucker, the two little bears".......good old ATV.........

Tinga and Tucker was ITV's religious programme for children. I remember it too.

Sadly, very few episode exist.

Ho ho ho Aunti Jean!  I was just talking about this a couple of days ago and thought 'I can now look it up on the i/n'  as I haven't found anyone else who remembers it and I don't remember it wonderfully but do think it may have had a fundamental psychological effect on my childish brain, creating the utmost wish (now fulfilled) to live in Australia!  I also loved Topo Gigio to bits lindapinda although didn't covet french living but DO have a dalmation due to spotty dog on the woodentops ... are we formed by our early memories or what?!
Yes I was a fan of the two little bears as my father (Albert Tinkler from Walsall - sadly now deceased) was the pianist on the show who composed many of the songs the bears sang... I still have his hand written manuscripts... and I have a T & T Club Badge!!! Anyone remember 'Octopus Ozzie' one of the songs they sang?
I have quite a bit of memorabelia from this show including letters between Jean Morton and my dear old dad. Love to hear from you.

Hi Sue,

What lovely memories you must have - your was a very talented chap. The thing that programmes back then had that is sadly missing nowadays is the magic that held childrens interest. My memories of many programmes have faded over the years but the two little bears were amongst my favorites, along with tales of the riverbank and pogles wood. Would love to hear more of your memories - its just a pity your father is no longer with you because he certainly brought sunshine into my childhood x
Yes, I do remember it. It was on a Sunday evening about 18:15 it included keeke the kangaroo. The show was hosted by Auntie Jean (Morton). Being Sunday in the late 60's it included a bible story. Something I doubt would be allowed today!
I was just thinking about this yesterday I had The Tinga and Tucker projector. Coloured slides you put through a red projector probably run on batteries, you could shine the pictures onto a white background. I loved it!! Have looked on e bay for one today but no luck. I brought my first daughter up on the videos of all tho old favourites, tales of the riverbank, tales of pogles wood which I adored, and made me love woods for the rest of my life, also The Herbs, my daughter is now 22 and still has very fond memories of these, so much so that I've just got her The Herbs dvd as one of her christmas presents. Don't worry, she's also into 'normal thongs too, rock music etc!
I remember them, I was a member of the club, I also remember they had a friend called Willie Wombat.
Yes I remember it I was a member of the club, I remember their friend Willie Wombat
