Anyone remember a film called 'Project x'?

It had matthew broderick and helen hunt, i think, i have a very vague memory of it as i was only a lad wen i seen it

Yes.  It didn't get a full cinema release but I saw it at the Birmingham Film & TV Festival in 198?  Very moving.  The bit where the one chimp manages to shut down the overloading equipment, then has to be left to die of radiation poisoning, caused my date to blub her eyes out on my shoulder.
