Of being an organ donor, instead of opting in.

Personally I don't like it. Imagine the doctors allowing a person to die so that a better qualified or better educated person can live. A scientist say or a cancer specialist or even a member of the Royal family. No I don't like it at all. Please don't say it couldn't happen, stringent checks etc. It will happen we just won't know about it.

I don't think anybody should make a moral judgement on this. It should be up to the individual to make a choice. I still do not agree with opting out. It pre-supposes.

Well, opt out then. If it happens.
I have no probs.re organ donation, not that any of mine'll be of much use after 50+ years of miss ues by me
I don`t have a strong opinion either way but apparently there is evidence that when the policy was introduced in Chile, the amount of donors decreased. What I do think is that there should be a public referendum. The decision as to what people do with their bodies should be their decision and not the decision of a few politicians.
Personally, It wouldn't bother me I've always carried a donor card but I can see why some people might object on various grounds.
I get the heebie jeebies about eyes, they can have the rest.
I'm with ferlew, I'm keeping my eyes. If people are that bothered, they can opt out (not currently a donor myself).
Exactly sherr. Bit of a non question really.
I do carry a card, eyes are crossed through, silly isn't it?
It's the Ts that are supposed to be crossed. Not the eyes. They should be dotted.
Just opt out Jeza. Would hate to be as suspicious as you. Anything of me that could be of use (not much I suspect) would be available.

Zac, are you deliberately being awkward. It is a perfectly valid Q where I was asking for the opinion of others.
No.
Question Author
Daisy. Ever wonder why I am suspicious?
Surely if someone was that worried about it they would opt out?

I wonder how those same people would feel about accepting an organ if they or a loved one needed one.
I really don't think that NHS doctors bump people off to provide organs for scientists or members of the royal family.

I think you've missed my point Sher. I was not for a minute suggesting that.
"Bit of a non question" Why? I think it is a very valid question.
Yes, Jeza.
I am all for it, I think people should have to opt out. They can have anything of mine that is of any use.
Because, if you disagree, you just opt out. There's really no need for far getched B movie conspiracy theories.
