This was one of the best tv dramas we'd seen in ages. I think the ending was deliberately ambiguous. We see Molly's letter - but it was the Corporal who was reading it. We see the funeral - but Molly's mum and dad are watching it on tv. I got the impression that 'our girl' in the hearse was someone else's daughter, and the reality was hitting home to them that at some...

Really good - well written, well acted.
So was she killed, or was it just the 'letter from the grave' she was writing?
fab, wet me nix cos I couldn't leave the telly
The corporal was reading out the letter before he filed it "for future reference" - she's OK out in Afghanistan.
Loved it. Lacey is a certain talent and I was totally enthralled by her performance. What a pleasant change to have such an excellent one off production. More please.
Brilliantly done, beautifully acted by a very talented young actress and a first rate supporting cast. I can see this winning awards. I'm also hoping that it gives a good insight into the lives of new recruits - may someone with experience could say if this is the case.
What about the coffin in the hearse boxtops? With "Our Girl" in flowers?

tamborine....you definitely need "pause live tv" !!
That was her parents watching someone else's daughter being repatriated - her mother said to the dad "our gir's going to be all right".
Indeed saxy-jag, it was very realistic, with all the usual Forces style language, sayings and banter one would expect.
Well scripted and acted, very believable. Nice to see the BBC are using the right research people for these sorts of programmes, same goes for Bluestone 42, it portrays Forces humour exactly as it is.
I thought it was brilliant. My eldest daughter joined the army - combat med tech, same as Molly - about 12 years ago. It gave Mr Q and I an insight into what she did in training, although she did tell us, you never know till you see it. We were so proud at the passing out parade. (She met her future husband in the army but left when they started their family) Very well acted.
I thought it was brilliant, but cried my eyes out...I also thought she was dead. Spoke to the Daughter this morning and she said exactly the same as boxy.... Agree with just jane, more please.
Iwonder how many girls just like Molly find their way to the Army Recruitment Office ???
I was spellbound, it was fantastic. Glad to have the ending explained, though, as I thought she had died. I don't watch Eastenders, but knew her face so well, which part did she play? Brilliant acting from everyone.
Will watch on iPlayer later in week..

Enjoyed it very much. I don't watch dramas which go on week after week - one episode is perfect. Apparently there's a new one which looks good starting on Sunday called The Village - but its on in six parts, far too long for me.
It was excellent. I agree, one of the best dramas in a long time. Hope Lacey and the crew/cast win some awards for this. They deserve it.
Just watched it on iPlayer...............brilliant.
