Live ants and green leaves on the menu, you could go on I'm a Celebrity for this dish. One chef give a gruesome description of killing a chicken. I think I'll stick to the good old home cooking.

But that's not typical of Claridges, that's the Noma event....but yes, weird.
It was weird, but people paid £200 a head..... I like that programme.
I agree totally Mary. Couldn't believe that they would have ants in the kitchen - surely doesn't comply with elf & safety! If people are daft enough to pay those prices, more fool them.
And leaders of poverty-stricken nations living the high life.
what is more, they flew in extra ants in a suitcase - how do you get live ants through customs?
Love this program, think the boss bloke is really posh (almost 'English posh') (Annemollie - we have people living on the streets, kids being dragged up etc but still have loaded MP's stealing from us - go figure).
I missed the programme tonight. Whacky meals (ants etc) are not typical
Damn! Missed it again!

Yes thats what I wanted to know how did they get ants through customs! Also agree about leaders from poor countries living the life of luxury. Fascinating insight into the lives of the rich and famous.
And how did the ant trapper discover the method of catching ants (sucking them up?), must be an easier way - also, how did he get into that line of work 'oh I know, when I grow up I will catch ants for people to eat'?
I love the programme too, but hate injustice. Take a look at this link. Rwanda and Malawi sent delegations who stayed there:

Many thanks Annemollie for the eye-opening GNP link. Like you, I was incensed to see African leaders staying in £4000 per night rooms when such an amount would adequately finance an African hospital for a month. As to the ethics of eating live ants, I think I'll defer to Tony Blackburn (who better!) when he recently declared that he would not, now, enter 'I'm a Celeb...' as he didn't agree with the cruelty inflicted.
did you notice the broken down rolls royce was actually a bentley
Did Tony Blackburn mean the cruelty to the contestants or the poor animals they ate?
I'm pretty sure that Tony meant the creatures ;)
