80s kids tv programme does anyone know what it was?

i have a deep memory of a kids programme that is driving me nuts. It was on ITV and it's main character was a ghost in a red cloak with a yellow O on it. It lived in a watchtower and am sure there was kids that visited him and he told them stories. The character is not unlike the little wizard that was he-mans pal.
i know his show existed pls help this tortured soul!!!

Do you mean He-Man - there was a little character on that dressed in red with a pointy hat called Orko.
