True, last Xmas seems like only a month away. Unfortunately it's part of the ageing process, something to do with Einstein's theory of relativity, I believe.

It is about 6 weeks away, and I haven't even thought about presents or invites for dinner. It's been a busy year with the Olympics and Jubilee and all that.

On Saturday I'll reach that stage in another decade where I can't flip the numbers round and claim a hard life. I'll be 44.
I used to think time was whizzing away until I had a weird and scary couple of years a couple of years ago.
Now it seems to amble by. It's a very nice pace of thought, I have to admit.
