She was disappointed for her as she was expecting to win. Being live it captured a genuine moment of heightened emotion but she did correct herself.

Both are amazing people, both Rebecca and Clare.

Why is Clare Balding remarkable?

Because she does here homework and knows everything there is to know about so many sports; because she gets completely into what ever sport she is commentating on and genuinely cares about the outcomes; because she conducts an intellegent and coherent interview. She leaves the others for dead in my opinion.

Not the first time she put her foot in it. She called Ian Thorpe 'Michael' yesterday and had to apologise to him. He just looked at her and said "I am Ian actually".

The 10 o'clock news announced the result as "Disappointment in the swimming pool this evening when Rebecca Adlington failed to get the gold and took just a bronze medal. "

That was scripted rather than a live comment - this negativity puts a lot of pressure on her.

Nobody is saying Care is perfect but she is head and shoulders above the rest. As has been said she does her homework and knows her stuff. But we all make mistakes.

Is it just me with the olympic coverage but each time a I switch on all i say is kate&wills not knocking them but do they pay for they tickets and does wills have an amazing amount of leave from H.M's forces?
