I so agree. Do they have to pass any sort of audition - maybe those with the least correct answers get through! Previous contestants have been of a (slightly) higher standard.

Why would anyone apply to go on a quiz programme knowing they're not likely to be able to answer the questions? I think a lot of people just want to be on TV. I'm sure that applies to Paddy's girls on Take me Out

I agree maidup. I think they were all more interested in the way they minced across the catwalk thingy to Dale! And that's the other thing that annoys me -are the contestants told to end every sentence with his name?

Brilliant Squarebear. Which brings us back to losgigs earlier question - do they measure the contestants' intelligence in order to get on the programme in the first place?

I think it is the television generation. The contestants probably don't view it as a quiz, more a chance to appear on television.
I would never contemplate going on anything like that as I know I am not clever enough.

I assume the producers love nights like this. No prize money given out means a nice cheap show to make.

I think it was a rollover this week Howard - something like £6.7 million up for grabs? Needless to say I shall be back to work on Monday!

Although I did not see the particular programme I believe that there was a woman who did not even get past the first question. As far as I know she had to pick the largest of 4 objects, two of which were an elephant and the Moon. She chose an elephant and could not be persuaded to change her mind.
