Your home contents insurance might cover accidental damage to your TV screen.

An authorised Panasonic repair centre will be able to tell you the cost of repair. (It won't be cheap though. The reason that large screen TVs cost a lot more than smaller sets is because the screen accounts for much of the cost of manufacture):

Have you checked your warranty. Was it free or did you buy an extension?I never have one because the cost is not economical. Shops make more on extended warranties than they do on the goods. I'm surprised if it is not covered. My grandaughter once pulled the tv over. It still worked fine but there was a hole in the casing. My home insurance covered it as it was technically worthless, even though it still worked.
johnny: John Lewis provide a *free* 5-year warranty on TVs which covers faults with the set but (quite reasonably) doesn't cover accidental damage and cosmetic problems.
I'd guess that screen replacement would cost nearly as much as a new TV- since the price of these is dropping all the time.
I'd guess that a screen replacement would probably cost more than the price of a new TV.
