Has anyone come across this attack? Yesterday my pc dipped off, then came back on again with this program running. it was in the guise of a secure protection, and was scanning my pc and finding loads of "infections". It would not let me open any web-pages saying that I could be at risk, also prevented me from accessing my own secure protection. there was a box to "remove these Trojans etc." when I clicked that a request for $56 was made. I must say, I was alarmed, as I could not get round it. I noticed that an icon had appeared on my Desktop, which indicated a program, so I went into control panel/ add and remove programs, and that's all it took.

It may not have gone from your computer.

Some of these programs "hide" on your PC and if they find they have been uninstalled they just reinstall themselves again.

I would install the free version of Malwarebytes and run that.

Also read this from the Malwarebytes web page

You can get the free malwarebytes from here. Note you must run it manually.
