David Tennant as Dr WHO

WHO else is excited that David Tennant will be the new dr who?

I really like him as an actor, and think he will make a brillaint dr who :D

Hi doomey, I am pleased that David Tennant has got Dr Who mainly for the fact that he has been a life long who fan. And apparently it was watching the program as a child that inspired him to be an actor. Which should mean that he will cherish the role which should mean a quality performance.

Not even vaguely impressed.  Would have preferred either Richard E. Grant, Alan Davies or Eddie Izzard, someone with a bit more pedigree and profile.

As for Ecclestone and the new series it has been something of a let down.

If only they could use CGI and bring back Jon Pertwee!

I think David is ok for the part but I given a choice I would have said Richard E Grant or YES...Alan Davis!!!!.

I think they made a good choice. Just a shame Mr Eccleston gave it up. He was growing on me.

Yes I was over the moon that David got the role. I loved him in Blackpool and he was amazing in Casanova. A very talented and gorgeous fellow indeed!!

I'm really gald its David Tennent as well, i think he's gorgeous!! I've always loved Christopher Eccleston but have found him really embarrassing in this series - not that i knew what to expect as i'd never watched it as a child.

LOL Philtaz.it's a generation thing I guess, but I much preferred Baker to Pertwee....you must be a few years older than me ;-D!!

I've loved the new series, and the new Doctor, but am pleased that David Tennant is to be the next incarnation...it was watching Tom Baker as Who that inspired him to become an actor, and Baker himself had said prior to the announcement that Tennant would be his first choice.  So for me, this all points to a Dr who will be inspired by, and perhaps reminiscent of, my definitive Doctor.  I'm excited to see how he will portray the part.  And he's Scottish too, woo hoo!
