Yes, you're a Scrooge ;-)

I'd have Christmas from July onwards, I love it.
I love it normally but this year I'm just not in the mood, I can't muster any enthusiasm at all:(
Have to agree with you murraymints, it's ridiculous how it's become now, spoils the whole concept of Christmas. People going over the top too soon, things in the shops "shoved down our throats", tv ads on and on till you get sick of it. It always used to start early December, people looked forward to it, didn't have that much money but made it into something to enjoy and celebrate...not much of that now with the greedy consumer society IMO... AFAIC they can do away with it now because it's been spoilt...roll on early January when it's all over and done.... Scrooge? You bet but only by others having driven me there...scream.

Do not think it makes us scrooges..just a bit weary of it all and by the time it arrives it is a bit of an anti climax..also it's my birthday christmas day and I get overlooked all the time...woe is me ..boo hoo
Awww MM, so THAT'S it, you don't get double presents?

That'd suck to be honest with you. Start stamping your feet a couple of weeks beforehand to let it be known you want Christmas AND birthday presents, in fact, start stamping now to make sure the message gets through.
That's 'orrible murray...an xmas baby...mine's bad enough being just before it but on the day...the pits. You're right we aren't scrooges but labelled so by the pro xmas lobby who aim to make us "sensible" ones out to be the party poopers LOL.

The only person who really remembers is mum...and she will lets face it always remember that Xmas ..ummmm years ago......when I was little I had a Summer official Birthday like the Queen...may suggest the resurgance of that tradition...but would that make me twice as old ?
I'd insist on separate presents, some done in birthday paper, tis only proper, stand up for your rights MM!
Well I've often thought of having an official summer birthday too...hate mine at Xmas with all the cards intermingled with christmas ones...not special then is it. I think we should have two but not be twice as old lol...those who have bdays on 29th Feb aren't 4 times younger are they lol.

it used to be even worse..my now ex was on xmas eve !....
100% agreement with what you say.
Ahhh, but MM is only pouting about Crimble because she misses out on her birthday.

I'm willing to bet if her birthday was in June, she's fully embrace the tinselly madness that we adore about Christmas.

Go arrrrrrrn, admit it, im right aren't I MM? ;-)
My mother died suddenly on Christmas eve, It was nearly 30 years ago but it still always in the air at Christmas.
Lol Boo,.. that's not the reason for my hating it...yeh hating it...would embrace it wholeheartedly like I used to if it only started in December....soz to disappoint lol.
what B00 says, and make sure the pressies are from your local Co-Op, just to guarantee quality and good service.
Question Author
Honest Boo that is quite wrong....I just get a bit fed up with the hype so early on that by the time it arrives it is sort of fizzled out in me....
''I'm willing to bet if her birthday was in June, she's fully embrace the tinselly madness''

Mine's in July and I do not embrace the tinselly madness... CD's is on Boxing Day...
