Have recorded it to watch another day.

Ms. B's reputation is somewhat diva-ish, including strops and shouting, but only those close to her know how true that is - if at all.
I met her at work once. That was exactly how I described her - miserable.
I thought it would be a two parter.
the actress made her sound more like Gladys Pugh from Hi-De-Hi when she spoke. Maybe that was in tribute to the late David Croft...

bobbie i thought it would be longer as well, sort of stopped mid air didnt it
was it the mixed race season program?
Am i the only one who didn't realise she was mixed race? I thought she just had a good tan
I quite enjoyed it, but felt it should have been a lot longer. How can you cram
70 years plus of someone's life into just 1 hour and 10 minutes? I thought
the actress who played Shirley got the lip-curling almost down to perfection.
they didn't even try to cram 70 years plus into that time - it only focused on her youth. were you not watching, cupid?
I enjoyed it and could happily watch a second part if they were to make it, if only to see her chear up!
Cheer-up, not chear maidup.
i was surprised it was only a one off. Would like to have seen a second part.

Don't think it did her any favours though. I know she had it hard, but I found it very hard to like her.

Don't get me wrong I think she's a fabulous performer. I've seen her live and she was amazing and I loved her on the BBC Electric Proms, but she's not an endearing soul is she?
ooops sorry - spelling police hot on the case.
Question Author
i would have liked to have seen more, and yes the lip thing was very good
Maidup - sorry, but there is nothing worse than reading something with bad spelling.
I met her outside the playhouse theatre way way back got her autograph she had beautiful skin and was very charming
by the way the playhouse theatre is at charing cross in london i think she was just starting out
She was always difficult to say the least (allegedly) and I remember her as part of the 60's. and the scandal when it was revealed that she had a baby out of wedlock, and for that reason she could not be presented to the Queen, things have changed now of course.
