Does this ring a bell with anyone? Today we were sorting the motorhome out for this weekends trip, we are going to Ragley Hall for the Proms in the Park I suddenly thought, we had been away last weekend but could not think where we had been. Found OH and asked him where we had gone to last weekend, he looked blank and said give me a minute, eventualy we came up with the answer - Bristol Balloon Festival. Now how worried should I be, we are both going down the same route with memory loss, just think of the exciting conversations we could be having a year or so down the line?

How old are you?
My long term memory is still sound, but my short term memory seems to get worse with every passing year. I think it's pretty normal!
Not to worry, this regularly.... Sorry, what did you say again?
Sounds very familiar to conversations in the Lofty household.

Me "Will you remind me to do xyz in the morning"
Him "If you remind me to remind you because I will forget"
Me "But I will forget to remind you to remind me"

And we both forget anyway.

Good fun init!!
And yes, we can both remember in great detail what we did 30 years ago!

It really is an awful feeling when you cannot think of something, it's like a brick wall has come down and you can't penetrate it. Today we went to our U3A skittles#/lunch at a local pub, I was having a conversation with someone and half way through a sentence I had to stopo, I had forgotten what I was talking about, so embarrassing but everyone understood as we are all of similar ages.
You're not alone .
I had to fill in a form a couple of days ago in a shop about a complaint I had .
I couldn't remember my postcode or my telephone number for the life of me . I kept umming and aaaring until it eventually came to me .
Mind you it was hot and muggy and I was a bit stressed .
I often go upstairs and stand there wondering what on earth I went up there for in the first place .
carandrog, hope you don`t slip up on Quizmaster when you`re doing your "hellos"
I had to put my signature on something the other day and I couldn't remember how to do it; I had to have a few "practice goes".
horeshoes, is that Freddie in ur pic and where`s it taken?
Oh well, at least we are all in the same boat!
oops horseshoes..soz
Do I know any of you? I haven't had my tea yet, or have I?
A religious canvasser came to a lady's house and asked on the doorstep 'Madam, do you believe in the hereafter?'.
'I very much do', she replied. 'Many's the time I've gone upstairs and thought: "Now, what am I up here after?"'.
And then when you get back down to the bottom of the stairs you remember again.

I often think of something I have forgotten in the supermarket and go rushing back down the store, only to forget again what I am going back for!!
Elsie - that has made me laugh - really laugh. I am empathetic too though. If you heard some of the conversations I have with my Big Sis - well, perhaps it is better you don't. Mind you, we always end up having a good laugh about it. Sometimes I rememebr the missing bits the next day or even later. Then I have to make a note of it, lest I forget again. <<sigh>>
Some people don't recall what you told them 5 mins before ^^^^
Oh yes ..the infamous notes ..then I wonder what are these notes and why did I make a note of them :))
