The 24 year old man claims that Walsh indecently assaulted him in a nightclub lavatory.

Apparently Walsh was only voluntarily questioned by police officers.

Why would he be voluntarily questioned, others would be questioned whether they wanted to or not?

Regardless of whether or not this is only an accusation and further investigations are to take place, how can Simon Cowell say "I don't believe for a second that these allegations are true," was he there?

/// Other stars to have backed Walsh, include Mary Byrne, 51, the Irish singer eliminated in last year's X Factor semi-finals. ///

I didn't even know that Louis Walsh was gay.

> how can Simon Cowell say "I don't believe for a second that these allegations are true,"

Er, because he doesn't believe the allegations are true? i.e. loyally standing by his friend and saying something rather than nothing.

It's OK though, Simon only backed him 100%. When he really believes in something he backs it at least 110%, often a lot more, e.g. ten thousand per cent.
Hi daffy154, I don't know whether he is gay or not, but I can't see anything here that says he is.
the rumour that he is gay has been going around for years, he doesnt seem the type to assault someone but I suppose time and evidence will tell.
I think voluntary questioning means he was not arrested and questioned under caution. It sounds like a preliminary investigation. And anyone would get the same treatment.

Is your suggestion that he is getting special treatment because he is famous (or Gay) and the rest of us would be treated different? If so, you are wrong.
Factor30, I (wrongly?) assumed that because he has allegedly indecently assaulted another man that he was gay.
I think this is just the 24 year old man trying to make some easy money, it is disgusting that louis has been targeted in this way, it seems very contrived and pre-meditated. Similar to the 'blonde accuses premiership player of rape in the hotel room she went to with him' cliche.

Are you trying to say that just because she went to his hotel room, she deserved to be raped?
no , look at the word 'cliche'

So you are saying that anybody who has had criminal accusations made against them, can personally choose to agree or disagree to be questioned by the police?

I can't see it somehow.

As for your suggestion that I may be assuming that he was granted certain privileges because he was gay, is totally wrong also.

Maybe because of his status, but then that wouldn't be a first time, certain other celebrities have also been specially treated were lesser mortals have not.

Yes an overused expression, but the inference is still there in my opinion.

If I have misinterpreted your post, please accept my apologies.
you have, i will, thank you
"can personally choose to agree or disagree to be questioned by the police?

It doesn't really matter whether you can see it. It's a fact. Unless you are arrested, then the interview is voluntary, and you can choose not to respond.

I wouldn't believe anything that was written in The Sun.
Also, regardless of whether he's gay or not, I don't think someone as well known as Louis Walsh would go around grabbing the botox of random men. Just sounds like yet another person out to make a quick buck, to me.

will you please go back to the English Language school you went to when you arrived in this country and ask them to explain to you the difference between imply and infer / implication and inference.

I know you are doing your best to integrate but your confusion in basic English is going to limit your ability to communicate properly with English people.
