Late night BBC2 french movie last night

Missed the ending of the BBC2 late night french movie about the invalid terminally ill wheelchair bound patient who convinces his carers that he be allowed a shag before he dies. So does he get his wish in the end and who gets the carer??. please if you know the ending!!

Yes, he did get his wish and most of the other patients there did too by all accounts. The very end was unexpected (by me anyway). The guy who looked after Judy's cat (can't recall his name), came in on New Year at the Millennium and said "Happy new year. Come here, I've got something I want to show you". He then showed some slides of the real people that the characters in the film were based on (So I assume it's a true story). At the end of the slides, he pulled a photo from his jacket and said "And this was the real Rene (The obnoxious main character.). The film was then dedicated to the memory of him.
