so what did people out there think of the new Luther?

I think that there is a lot of catching up to be done from the last series, it was a bit muddling in places, but looking forward to next weeks now - and I will be checking under the bed tonight!

Yes it was very good .I nearly jumped out of my skin when he appeared in the back of the car .
He's the guy who played George Gently's sidekick .Lee Ingleby.Good actor .
And Alice is soooo creepy :) .
But the icing on the cake is just watching dishy Idris Elba really :)
I started watching the first series of Luther but gave up after a couple of episodes. Couldn't get passed Alice's strange red hair! Hair is now a more normal (dyed) colour. But tuned in to the new series as Idris is very very appealing and I think it's great. Very exciting. Frightened the life out of me when the Mr Punch was in the back of the car instead in the flat where I thought he might have appeared - I was starting to think the murderer was the blond ex-girlfriend of the baddie! I worry now for Ripley.
what I want to know is how the masked guy got into the back of the vehicle without the driver knowing (trained cop who should be keeping his eyes/ears open in that situation) - a passenger was in the back on the drive over to the flat so he couldn't have been in there at the beginning of the journey - or did I miss something?
i'm with you on that carmalee,. good episode though
Oooh I loved it!! :)
Carmalee, I think the ex wasn't being very truthful to the team..I think she probs didn't close the door properly, and that the killer probs got in when the radio sounded as he might not of heard someone getting in the back of the car with the woman speaking to him...

Can't wait for next weeks episode!
didn't see the first series so in my dotage hadn't twigged that the lady cop who went into the flat with the blonde girl was Luther's ex - have I got it right?
no she's a ds new to working with Luther
No no, the blonde woman was the ex of the killer..the cop that went in with her wasn't in the last series, she's new to this series.
SS and McCluff - thank you for putting me right - when you get old too you'll appreciate it isn't always easy to get a grasp of thing! Txs a bundle I'll enjoy it so much more niow.
even now
No problem Carmalee xxx
My mam thinks I am mad as i kept pointing out how gorgeous Idris Elba(Luther) was last night every 5 minutes haha
Luthers wife was killed in the first series .
so the ex wife was killed off in the last series and blondie was a replacement but she is now an ex????
No she's the wife of a convicted killer who he put away who then comitted suicide in prison .That girl in the porn trade is her daughter .
His wife was shot by his former colleague .
Am I thinking of the right blonde woman here :)
I have to admit to not watching it. I am phobic about masks and punch and judy too. I knew it would lead to night terrors. Shame because I really would have loved to have watched it :o(
Carmalee, Luthers wife was killed in series one.
The blonde woman that was escorted to her apartment by the female police officer was the killers ex not Luthers.
ah yes ..she's the blonde we're talking about .Thanks Suzy .
She was his ex( the masked man ) and she was an art student .
whew - thanks - time for a nice glass of red I think
The girl who was gonna be paid for appearing in a porn movie was the daughter of a woman who earlier in last nights episode came to Luther at the station to ask him to help find her daughter before filming for this movie went ahead.
supersuzy -thanks, I'd got that - was just a little confused about..........think I'll just leave it as...was just a little confused - have got it now I think but still don't buy Mr Mask getting into the vehicle - his weight alone would have rocked the car a bit surely?
