I am new to this this series. I am really enjoying it but very confused. Please can someone explain the family of the girl with the brain tumour? What relation is the teacher? From last nights episode he is obviously not he real father; and why does she have 2 mixed race brothers? and does/did her Mum have a drink problem? Many thanks.

The girl's mother works in the school canteen and ages ago used to go out with the teacher. (She did have a drink problem) Yes several children from different fathers - one of her children in jail )
