You can try anything by Lee Hazlewood, in my opinion Trouble Is A Lonesome Town is 1 of his best.  You can also try anything by Crosby stills and Nash or Chris Kristofferson... Yes the actor...(probably spelt his name wrong).
A few suggestions, depending on what you're after:

The ultimate in credible country - Johnny Cash (earlier albums for simple singalong fare; later ones for impressive but depressing songs about death etc and of course the two "prison" albums somewhere in the middle).

Great voice and intelligent songs - Emmylou Harris (her 2003 album Stumble Into Grace is lovely)

"Outlaw" country (created as a reaction against Nashville schmaltz) - Willie Nelson or Waylon Jennings.

The inventors of country rock - The Byrds/Gram Parsons/Flying Burrito Brothers (all linked - with The Byrds, their most 'country' album is Sweethearts of the Rodeo)

Guitar-based rocking country - Steve Earle (Copperhead Road is a good starting point)

Sorry none of these are particularly youthful (or even still alive, in the cases of Cash, Jennings and Parsons) but I find a lot of today's country either very 'corny' or very bland (that means you, Shania)
If you insist on this genre, go for Wllie Nelson.
merle haggard
There was an album that came out in the early 70's ( I think)
by a band called the Outlaws ( I think ) called "Green Grass and High Tides" ( I think ) - some wicked guitar playing on it ( I know! )
Anything by Matraca Berg or Mindy McReady is usually good and modern themed....not sure about the guitaring though
if its modern country you want. try looking up " new stars from the heartlands" cd . it has all todays big stars of country and has songs you'll fall in love with straight away, it truly is, a gorgeous album.
