He is more deserving than most of the people who get one. Does a lot for charity, helped land the London Olympics, has exiled his scary wife.

Give him two.
It would be ridiculous to give him a knighthood, but it is ridiculous to have him playing for England again and he is. Expect it as a parting gift from Blair.
The England cricket team win the ashes and are given honours, Kelly Holmes wins two gold medals and is made a Dame. Ian has been raising money for charity for years and only just gets a Knighthood. Can't stand either of the Bs.
yes, that sounds right - a Blair parting gift of supposedly populist honours. I have no quarrel with Ian Botham being honoured for decades of charity work, but I'd like to see Beckham wait until he'd stopped playing at least. And don't get me going about the Ashes team's MBEs, the Australians were astonished. As far as they're concerned winning is just part of the job.
I very much doubt he'll get a knighthood. An MBE or even OBE perhaps, but not a knighthood.

He aleady has an OBE. Possible make him an Earl as well...

David Beckham EARLOBE
Personally think he deserves one, even if it's only for putting up with the skinny, miserable faced Mrs Beckham........although I do find the thought of her becoming a Lady a bit nauseating!

I do hope not. I have nothing against him but I don't agree with honours being dished out to people just because they happen to be good at what they choose to do There have to be far more deserving people out there. Mind you I don't agree with inherited titles either!
Knighthoods should only be given out to people who have served their Monarch loyally and are prepared to put their very lives at risk for their Monarch & Country.

This is all part of our ancient culture, lets revert back to the days of chivalry when a knight was worthy of the honour bestowed on him by his Monarch and not by some brown nosed politician dishing them out to any Tom, Dick or Harry.
Only when we have won the world cup with his efforts.
If they give him one they should give one to ian Callaghan
Well, at the very least it might put a smile on Victoria's miserable face!
now now, oldgit, you know very well that offering honours to rich people is also an ancient English tradition. Plus dukedoms for Charles II's illegitimate children. Seems to me things have generally got better.
What has he done exactly for Great Britain? He's been living in Spain for the past few years so spending his money there; he's now off to the USA very patriotic .... Playing football for England is not British, i quite imagine the Scots, Welsh and Irish in favour.
I can't understand what great thing this man has done to deserve it! And honestly , would this really give V Beckham a title? If so, there's something definitely wrong somewhere.
Hang on - why hasn't anyone failed to grasp the real issue here...

...if David Beckham becomes Sir David Beckham, the his wife (the xylophone in sling-backs) will become Lady Victoria Beckham.

Has anyone given that issue consideration?
Of course Sir David Beckham would be a thoroughly deserved title. Alongside Lord Timmy Mallett, Dame Katie Price, Baron Second One From The Left As You Look At Them In Westlife and Tinky-Winky CBE.
sp1814 ... I thought I had. Why else would she be tempted to smile?
Gromit, I'm with you mate. He's a good role model for young men.
The whole honours system is a load of old B*****ks and , even if the system meant anything, to give Beckham one of these pantomime titles would be embarrassing MegaB*****ks.
