I have only just heard that Paul Walters has died. We all knew he had been unwell for some time (he left the show in Jan 06). What did he suffer from?

He was producer on Terry Wogan's morning show, and he has died of cancer.

Smurchops - he wasn't just a producer, Paul Walters was an integral part of the on-air presentation of Terry Wogan's show - their obvious friendship and mutual respect made their daily banter a vital component in the success of the show.

As far as is generally known, cause of death has NOT been made public, so I am curious to know where the assumption that Paul had cancer came from? There are a great many illnesses that can lead to early death, and in many cases it is the person's wish to keep details private. Paul was not "just" a producer of the Wogan show, he was an integral part of it, and was as well known as Tel himself. A great many people have entered their condolences on the BBC website, giving a fair indication of Dr Wally's popularity, and how he will be sadly missed
