These gangs of Fagin style criminals who train young children to pickpockets, come to the UK from Romania, so it stands to reason that if we were not members of the EU, then it would not be so easy for them to just wander freely into the UK.

Probably not the best justification for pulling out the EU. But gangs do come from Romania etc so there is an element of justification in the question.

In addition we could dump the HRA and get our own justice back from the lefty liberal Europe view
If we got out of the EU we could control our own borders, deport foreign criminals etc.

How on earth did we control it during WW2?

I would have thought it much easier to control, than controlling a land border.

They have to come and also land in boats. to get on an Island.
"How on earth did we control it during WW2?"

sitting in pill boxes mostly. are you volunteering aog?
In WW II Our control was largely of the sea . If it was illegal or suspect we would sink it. We can't do that now. If anyone landed they could be shot or imprisoned . We can't do that either .

Being out of the EU would be some help in controlling those who arrive by a legal means but once here legally or illegally we cant get rid of them because of their human rights much of which is set out in the UN charter. We could enforce deportation where it is allowed but our governments fail to do so .
The UK does have a land border. It's the one between Northern Ireland and Eire.
Guess what AOG - the world has changed in the last 70 years.

We were not self sufficient in food then and we are even less self suffient now.

We import and export billions of tonnes of goods

Heathrow alone processes 3-4 million people a month

Pulling out of the EU would not stop our need for such figures it would just make handling it impossibly difficult.

You keep trying to turn back the clock and it still doesn't work
