My partner (of 6 yrs ) has an 11 yr old son. The father of the lad has never seen him, his name is not on the birth certificate and has had no contact with my partner since well before the child was born. The relationship broke up after the childs father was mentally abusing my partner and threatning to break the legs of my partners other son who was 8 at the time (not his child). My partner is concerned because she thinks she may of seen the guy driving around the area where we live recently and is scared he might start trying to see the boy. The boy has been calling me dad for the last five years and is to all intents and purposes considered as my son. This is in scotland and we would like to know what rights if any would the childs father have if he does come knocking at the door.
Thanks.

If he comes knocking on the door slam it in his face. Deny him any access and he'll have to take her to court. Is he likely to do that? Doubtful...

That was my plan as well after a few choice words though.
I can't imagine after 11 years he'll even bother. Waste of space...!
