Firemen going on strike

I thought that they had something in their contract to stop them striking, who's next? All the ambulance and hospital staff? The army? The police? Have the ones I mentioned got something in their contracts to stop them striking? Will the firemen be liable fro prosecution if people die whilst they are on strike?

How could a member of the Armed Forces strike without disobeying a lawful order i.e. an offence in military law?

Other professions may elect to have legally binding no-strike agreements.

Thanks but will the fire service be held accountable for any deaths that happen because of their strike if it can be proved that had the fire service been operating normally could've been avoided?
hang on, arent the fire service still covering all emergency calls though. Its the non emergency calls that they wont go to.
