It's not unusual in some jobs to be on backshift one day and earlies the next, as long as you finish abou 3pm then don't come on duty until backshift or lates the day after that.

Was looking for the legal directive..
Under the European Working Time Directive:

"Daily rest - a break between working days

If you are an adult worker you have the right to a break of at least 11 hours between working days. This means as an adult worker, if you finish work at 8.00 pm on Monday you should not start work until 7.00 am on Tuesday."
Provided your type of employment is covered by the Working Time Regulations, where shift workers cannot take a full daily rest period (the above mentioned 11 hours) on a day in which they have changed shifts, employers must allow for compensatory periods of rest, i.e. rest taken later, ideally during the same or following working day. The principle is that everyone gets a minimum 90 hours rest a week on average, this being the total entitlement to daily and weekly rest periods.
as far as i know (if you are poodicat) then you work in the care sector to which the above dosen't apply
what do you do
