'Thug' must pay his victim £1000, 16 week jail term suspended for 1 year, and 150 hours of community service.

His crime 'charge of religiously aggravated assault'.

An appropriate sentence or did he get off too light?

/// Ms Sidat, who has worn a niqab for 15 years, added: “I was born in this country and love this place. I just want to be treated like everyone else.” ///

////// I just want to be treated like everyone else.”//////

Then one has to dress like "everyone else".

The culprit was drunk.

His action was unforgivable.

It's out of order, a grand's about right. She should consider perhaps behaving like others if she really wants to be treated like others.
Well the workshy layabout dads have all day to teach their kids how to be a general waste of space, a sort of aprenticeship. Hard working dads have to set a completely different example.
sorry the above was meant for another question, doh!

I can't believe the answers which state she must dress like everyone else etc etc...

Does that same rule apply to goths or anyone else who dresses slightly out of the norm, whatever that is?
BOO...yes, if you want to be taken seriously.

BOO...let me give you an example of someone dressing "out of the norm" as you put it.

Black full length cape, with head and shoulders completely covered, with only the eyes showing.

To me, that is "out of the norm" unless you were playing the leading role in "Wife of Dracula"
I agree, waht I mean tho' it's unnerving when serving someone in a niqab, only seeing their eyes,, maybe it'sjust me ??

So unless people conform to what you consider "normal" you wouldn't take them seriously?

How on earth did you ever manage when you did whatever job you did in a hospital sqad? If someone came in dressed in what you considered un-normal, would you not take their medical issues seriously?
