will withdrawing a statement change anything ?

my partner was arrested and charged with criminal damage, The victim has now withdrawn their statement. Will this make any difference when he goes to court?

it may it may not - It would depend if the crime is serious enough for the Police to want to press the charges instead of the victim.

What did he do?

he is said to have smashed a flat up, broke a lock on a front door.
Have the police got any evidence to prove it?

If so they may decide to take it further and press charges if there is enough to make it stand up in court...
