Racism should work both ways but doesn't seem to, even raising the subject now is taboo!
You say something which isn't related to any of the vile words used against ethnic minorities......and whoosh, your'e branded racist!!!
I haven't heard of a white European, going to the Race Relations, have you?
It is a very contentious issue and one I think which should be allowed to be debated, without using any derogatory terms

A healthy debate on an 'in your face' issue, can't be bad, can it?
As I said earlier to Den bobbi - people are more racist when they dont speak up for themselves because the person is black - when they dont say what they would say to another of their own race - now thats equality
Question Author
I totally agree peri, but why be automatically be branded like that, it's a one way thing,
heard bloke on Radio 5 say his white daughter was spat on by 3 w indian girls.No-one wanted to know > that should be an offence no matterwhat race or colour
Question Author
exactly thos, so why does this happen?
Guilt from the past - history ?
Question Author
possibly peri, but if your'e to move on and make this a better place to live in????
"I haven't heard of a white European, going to the Race Relations, have you?"

not specifically recorded in my memeory, but there are instances of them seeking advice via the commission for racial equality. often this is on a matter where they have supported a non-white person and have been victimised for it by their caucasian counterparts.

but that is looking at it holistically. there are many instances of irish, scottish, french, swedish (for example) and romany members of our community facing challenges on race and discrimination and raising them to the highest levels. perhaps people just skip over those stories and head straight for the black and muslim ones in order get there 'outrage' fix ?
Joy- yes I totally agree - the Asian lady in Primark obviously thought I told the checkout assistant to call the supervisor because she is an indian, it was a case of 'jumping on the racist bandwagon' .

I was just fed up waiting in the queue. Simples

Question Author

One wonders what is going on in the mind of someone like that - to be devils advocate maybe she has run ins with racist where she lives regularly - if so then its a vicious circle - is there an answer
I think there is a lot of prejudice on AB/CB - not the colour of your skin kind, but just who you are kind - eh Joy
