You can go to the police and make a withdrawal statement but it is not your decision. It is the decision of the CPS who may well decide to go ahead with or without your cooperation.
In which case, attend the court hearing and explain to the court that you no longer wish the case to proceed.

Write to the CPS first, and then if they still decide to proceed to court, they will have to explain why they didn't take your views into account.

If you are the only witness, and the court have no other evidence in the event of a 'Not Guilty ' plea, then there is no evidence to offer, and the accused will more than likely be formally released.
