Do I have the right to view evidence against me? And if so at what stage in the case and how do I get it?

I am a suspect in a case of assault (drink throwing - a joke I know! See my other post) and have been told by the police they have handed the case to the CPS for consideration. Apparently they have 2 witness statements against me, however I do not believe this to be true as no one "indipendant" saw, compounded also as the policeman had really been trying to "sell" me the option of admitting everything as per the victims statement (again totally inaccurate) and taking a caution.
