a car hit mine on a roundabout. I was on inside lane taking second exit and he came from outside lane took first exit , hit my car and sped off. It was so quick I got no details plus it was dark. Have reported it to the police. Insurance says I have to clqim off my policy. Are there other options

I can't think of any hun. : (
At least you're OK. x
Unless you want to pay for the repairs yourself and not go through the insurance then you have no other option unfortunately.
If the other driver can't be traced, who do you expect to pay?

As already stated, you have two choices - pay yourself or claim off your insurance.

It is one of the bugbears of driving.
You need to report the matter to the Police get a crime reference and pursue the matter through the MIB Motor Insurers Bureau if you wish to claim any personal injury they deduct any special damages (uninsured losses) 300 but you need to report to Police to pursue an Untraced Driver. Hope that helps.
