Does anyone know how likely it would be for a 16 year old boy to be prosecuted for having sex with his 15 year old girlfriend? Their relationship lasted for well over a year and they were having sex when they were both 15.

i did see an article there from the irish times saying teachers in ireland are complaining theyba re poorly trained if ast all on how to report signs of child abuse
And they were the school principals.

so i guess that eire is maybe no better than the uk

there are far more teachers than social workers and i guess you cant investigate whats not reported can you?

i wouldnt believe all you read. We do training with the garda teachers etc and they are duty bound by law to report and they do

Pinktwink, sorry if this has already been said (I havent read through the whole thread, ) but the social mores in Uk are not the same as Eire. Even though not socially acceptable, under age sex is not so stigmatised as in Catholic Eire.

and they had reported this to the hsa


thankfully we didnt have the likes of the magdalene sisters in the uk either

Legend - there were 'mother and baby homes' in the UK right up until the 1970s. Some were very good, some were very bad indeed. There are numerous books about it.

Usually the aim of the home was to get the mother to agree to adoption, and the girl was 'out of sight' from neighbours to avoid scandal for the family.

What if a 13yr old girl is , I dont know what the word is, involved in sex, does that make her knowingly consensual?
