I recieved telephone call which I thought was about a company claiming back bank charges for 49.99 if successful. later that night I called back after realising I did not want the service.I Was then told that I was sold a pack containing legal documents that I was going to complete myself to claim back the charges. I explained that I did not realise that this was the case and was then told that they had already taken my money. I asked if I was able to get my money back. I am still waiting for an answer. what can I do??? doriangray

What did you believe the phone call was about?

I would assume that they took your bank details as they have taken the money which would be persuasive that you agreed to purchase something and gave your bank details to pay for it accordingly.

Can you get a copy of their terms and conditions to check out any return or cancellation policy.

Have they sent anything out to you? Given the nature of the pack, I'd either not want to have delivery or at least don't open anything, in case they are difficult by making out you could have copied the docs and tried to get your money back etc...
Under the Distance Selling Regulations you are entitled to return goods for any reason at all that you have bought by telephone, internet or mail for a full refund.

You must inform the company of your intention to return the goods within 7 days of receipt and return them as soon as is practicable.

These regs also state that the product should be clearly described and as this was clearly not the case, report the company to your local Trading Standards:
