My Friend owes me 60 and wont pay me back, Can I do anything about this?

I won a makeover in June, I bought us photos for 200 and she said she would pay me back when she gets the money as she had a part time job. Now she has a full time job and has only paid 20! and she is not answering her phone or anything. Please help, I need the money back.

I doubt there is anything you can do for such a small amount. Do you actually have anythingin writing that proves that she owes you the money?
the first question is can you prove she owes it to you?i'm in a similar situation lent someone money and it hasntbeen payed back yet.i am giving to the end of the month then will threaten legal action but i do have bouncing cheques to back it up.i'm sure someone else on here can tell you more about the legal side.might be worth seeing ur local cab
good luck
There is not a lot you can do.

If you can prove she owes you this money - something in writing, perhaps - then you could take her to court, but even winning doesn't guarantee you will receive your money.

Go and see her, either at home or at work and try and get it sorted.
Really is it worth it? Doubt anything can be done, it maybe a lot to you but I think you now just have to learn who you lend your money to in future. Also never fall for the free makeover, hardly free when you have paid 200.00 for photos.

Thanks for your answers, I only have a receipt and a friend who was there when she said she would pay me it back.. =/ I know it isnt alot of money the now, but in the future i may need that 60 to buy a tv or something like that and she will have it. It just really annoys me that people say things and dont do them! anyone agree?! =) x
yes definately but thats why you should only lend money to someone you can really trust. x
Even if you do or dont trust them

Put it on paper and get some signatures down, that way they dont have a leg to stand on in court.

Must include: amount, when to paid by, to whom, date, dated signature, dated signature of recipient.
The amount is unimportant, it's the lack of evidence that is.

My advice is to put this down to experience. By all means stay on good terms with this person but never lend them money again. Chances are they won't ask now anyway.

Something similar happened to me a few years ago - also 60 as it happened. I felt very let down that a supposed friend would avoid me and try to wriggle out of paying me money loaned to him in good faith. However I now realise that the upside of this is that the question of a loan will never ever arise again, and better to be bumped for 60 than for 500, 1000, or 10,000.

Move on. Don't forget it, but move on. Consider that 60 lost!

Yeah I guess so, thanks anyway for your answers everyone.
some people are funny about physically parting with actual cash over certain amounts like 20-30 etc - sounds daft i know but its true...why not aske her if she would consider writing you a series of checks for say 5 to be cashed weekly or something? or even set up a direct debit for it?

I know its a small amount and not worth losing a friendship over - but you also have to question what kind of friendship it is if they will jeopardise it over such a paltry amount

i have lost a friend over 20 pathetic... but the money was irrelevant... it was the lies, ignoring etc that makes me kind of glad i dont see her anymore... a friend of over 10 years i might add... madness
