Can any body please tell me if an individual leaves a company, have I the right to ask for contact details for that person from the company and if so must they provide it by Law?

I know nothing about that act, but the data protection act wouldn't allow it.
I doubt it very much, I would have thought that came under the Data Protection Act rather than the Freedom of Information Act.
i wouldnt have thought so , i would say the freedom of information act would only be applicable to information which would be in the publics better interest. you are confusing this with the data protection act i think, under data protection i dont think the company would be obliged to provide this information as they may be breaking the data protection act in doing so

You see, I'm trying to find this person as he is a potential witmess to a claim I am making fron this Company and know of no other way to track him down. I don't even know his name.Any suggestions?
if you dont know his name then how do you know he no longer works there?

The company cannot (well should not) give you his details.

However you can ask them to forward a letter to him. They don't have to, but most companies will.
