is there any limit of time to make a claim against a deceased persons estate in Scotland ?, and if so how long is it , thanks

Not 100% on this. however, it is a duty of any executor to properly contact ALL beneficiaries, if they have failed to properly contact a beneficiary they are strictly liable and you may raise an action against them. If it is simply that you wish to contest the will, you will probably require to consult the Prescription and Limitations (Scotalnd) Act or the Succession (Scotland) Act 1964 which will probably specify the timescales for raising an action.
