We want to move from our house but have twice called the police once about kids hanging around outside being ASBOs in training and the other about our cars having things chucked at them while they were parked. As neither of these complaints were about a specific neighbour do we need to declare it to our solicitor when we move under the "disputes with neighbours" part. If we have to and don't then what kind of penalty are we likely to incur - I realise there is the potential we'll get sued but by how much?

yes you do need to delare it.
If you don't declare it and the people who buy your house have problems with the same thing, or if, for example house prices drop in that road because of the antisocial behaviour, and they find you knew about it but didnt tell them, they could start proceedings against you for the difference

How do you find out if the previous occupants had problems - theres no way they didn't have the same issues we have got but they may not have complained - where can I find out if they had?
I have personal experience in this area, and successfully won a case for misrepresentation on the grounds that the previous owners lied on the SPIF when declaring neighbour disputes.

Try registering on nfh.org.uk

They have a specific forum for neighbours from hell and a section on SPIF and declaring NFH when selling

did you get compensated, jo?
I've got a crazy idea, here it comes - why not be honest and tell the truth? And refrain from trying to **** someone over?

I agree - if people told the truth I wouldn't have been screwed over and be out of tens of thousands of pounds - as it is I have been and so don't see why I should put up with the stuff I have to when I can move away from it all.
