I own a plot of land and the planning department want me to have a central access point from the road. problem is there is a telegraph pole slap bang in the middle of the width of the plot thus making it impossible to have a driveway there unless i get the pole shifted. the pole is mounted on a banking about 1.5 metres deep which is within our boundary and will be removed to allow access. i spoke to the engineers who replaced this pole 6 months ago and they said that the pole was only in the depth of the banking. so if i remove this banking the pole is coming down, on that note - common sense would tell you that BT are gonna have to move the pole and/or put the pole in deeper. if they are willing to move the pole then i would like it moved about 5 metres away from the centre of our plot front. what do you think the chances are of getting this pole shifted and if they wont go halfers on the cost any idea what i will be looking at as a charge??????

If you have a BT pole on your land, you should be receiving a rental payment for it, from BT - that's paid by the Wayleaves Department. If you want to look at getting the pole shifted, you need to call the National Notice handling Centre, and they will direct you through to the Department that you need, which will probably be a Planning Group. Ring 0800 800 865 - it's free, and follow the voice prompts.
