Not sure if there has ever been a law but then again I know burger all lol
There is no law but the NSPCC recommends that no child under 13 be left alone for anything more than a brief period. However, if a child was 'vulnerable' at, say 14, the parents could still be prosecuted for neglect if something happened to the child and the courts felt that the parents had neglected their responsibilities.
